<p>Olivia noted that her doctor’s decision to determine her Breast Cancer Risk Assessment Score “saved my life,” even if the genetic test she performed in February 2023 yielded a negative result for all 90 cancer genes. Olivia received a high score; after imaging studies and a biopsy, an aggressive type of breast cancer was discovered in both breasts. After the biopsy, she had a double mastectomy within 30 days, and in the ten months that followed, she had four more operations.</p>
<p>Olivia said that she wanted time to absorb and get through the challenging portions before sharing her experience, which is why she has kept her diagnosis a secret up until this point. She expressed her gratitude to her friends and family for their continuous support throughout her treatment, especially to her boyfriend, comedian John Mulaney. Olivia said that before and after every procedure, John would set up framed pictures of their son, Malcolm, at her side.</p>
