11-year-old Mohit Kumar selected for  National Karate Championship

Mohit Kumar has achieved a remarkable achievement by winning the gold medal in the Bihar State Level School Games Karate Under-14 (Boys) Competition 2024. Under the guidance of Coach Mukesh Mishra, Mohit has been selected to represent the Bihar State in the upcoming “National School Games Karate Competition under the aegis of School Games Federation of India,  which will be held in month December 2024 in Punjab. 

11-year-old Mohit Kumar, from the small town of Darbhanga, Bihar, has been training under the guidance of Coach Mukesh Mishra for the last one year. “Mukesh Mishra, himself a former national level Karate athlete, and currently the Bihar State Karate team Coach, plays an important role in preparing school and college going students of Darbhanga and in mithila region like Mohit at “Karate School Darbhanga” for the sport of Karate.

Under the joint auspices of “Bihar State Sports Authority” and “Sports Department (Government of Bihar)” and as per the technical instructions of the technical officers of “State Karate Association of Bihar”.  Bihar State Level School Games  (Under-14, Boys) Karate Championship held from 22 to 24 October 2024 in Samastipur district saw tough competition among the best karate players from a total of 26 districts from Bihar. Whereas, the exceptional performance of Mohit Kumar of Darbhanga district in the 30-35 kg kumite event won him the gold medal.
