<p>There’s terrible news for Lucknow moviegoers. <p>Municipal tax is now levied at Rs 25 each show, but the House suggested raising it to around Rs 100. In order to implement this proposal, a committee would be formed.</p>
<p>Mayor Sushma Kharakwal said on Thursday that a review of the movie theater tax was necessary since it had not been examined in a number of years.</p>
<p>There are over 350 performances every day. According to authorities, the LMC will generate four times more income if tax rates are raised.</p>
<p>“At the very least, we should have been consulted before the decision was taken,” said a UP Cinema Federation office-bearer. Certainly, it will impact the average person. Cinemas will have to raise ticket prices if they are forced to pay more.</p>
