After twenty years of representing the state, Indian batsman Karun Nair has severed relations with the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA). In an effort to find his way back to the Indian team’s locker room, the right-handed batsman will start a fresh innings with the Vidarbha Cricket Association (VCA) in the forthcoming domestic season.

Nair provided a detailed Instagram post on Sunday in which she verified the news. He expressed his gratitude to all of his teammates and the KSCA coaches for their unending support.<img decoding=”async” class=”alignnone wp-image-149088″ src=”https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/theindiaprint.com-following-his-departure-from-karnataka-karun-nair-is-planning-to-join-vidarbha-karun-nair-806×605-61513602587-11zon-750×563.png” alt=”theindiaprint.com following his departure from karnataka karun nair is planning to join vidarbha karun nair 806×605 61513602587 11zon” width=”1479″ height=”1110″ srcset=”https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/theindiaprint.com-following-his-departure-from-karnataka-karun-nair-is-planning-to-join-vidarbha-karun-nair-806×605-61513602587-11zon-750×563.png 750w, https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/theindiaprint.com-following-his-departure-from-karnataka-karun-nair-is-planning-to-join-vidarbha-karun-nair-806×605-61513602587-11zon-768×576.png 768w, https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/theindiaprint.com-following-his-departure-from-karnataka-karun-nair-is-planning-to-join-vidarbha-karun-nair-806×605-61513602587-11zon-150×113.png 150w, https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/theindiaprint.com-following-his-departure-from-karnataka-karun-nair-is-planning-to-join-vidarbha-karun-nair-806×605-61513602587-11zon.png 806w” sizes=”(max-width: 1479px) 100vw, 1479px” title=”Following his departure from Karnataka, Karun Nair is planning to join Vidarbha 3″>

“I want to use this occasion to offer my sincere thanks for the amazing experience I’ve had working with the Karnataka State Cricket Association over the last 20 years. Nair stated on Instagram, “KSCA has been a guiding light, delivering constant support that helped develop me into the player I am today from the very beginning of my cricket career.

“I’d want to extend a particular thank you to my outstanding coaches, captains, and teammates, with whom I’ve had the honor of competing. Your guidance, mentoring, encouragement, and faith in me have all been crucial to my development as a cricket player.

“As I begin a new era with the Vidarbha Cricket Association, I bring with me the valued experiences, relationships, and abilities I’ve developed while working with KSCA. I appreciate you being a crucial component of my cricketing experience. On to the next thrilling journey!

“Karun Nair,” he continued.

Nair has played 85 games since making his First-class debut in 2013 and has amassed almost 6,000 runs at an average of 48.94. He has earned 15 centuries and 27 fifties. Additionally, he has 2119 runs in 90 List A games.

In only his third match after making his Test debut against England in 2016, Nair scored a triple century. He became only the second Indian, after Virender Sehwag, to hit a triple hundred in Test cricket with his unbroken 303 in Chennai.

He was given a berth in the next Border-Gavaskar Trophy at home because to his outstanding performance in the England series. But a string of subpar performances caused him to leave the team. He last played for India against Australia in the Dharamsala Test in 2017.

Before Nair, individuals like Dhruv Shorey, Nitish Rana, and Tejas Baroka had made the decision to terminate their affiliations. Prior to the next Ranji season, all three of them have requested a No Objection Certificate from the DDCA to join other teams.

While Rana, who most recently served as the captain of the Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL 2023, would be relocating to Uttar Pradesh, Shorey and Nair will share the Vidarbha locker room. After Rana and Shorey, Baroka is the third cricketer to quit DDCA, and he’s expected to show up in Puducherry.
