Elon Musk, the owner of X, said on Thursday that he will shortly remove shadow accounts from his platform. Musk also expressed regret for the delay in putting the new rules into effect to avoid shadowbanning.<img decoding=”async” class=”alignnone wp-image-131596″ src=”https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/theindiaprint.com-elon-musk-claims-that-x-will-handle-shadowbanning-shortly-download-2023-08-18t175508.106-11zon.jpg” alt=”theindiaprint.com elon musk claims that x will handle shadowbanning shortly download 2023 08 18t175508.106 11zon” width=”1237″ height=”823″ srcset=”https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/theindiaprint.com-elon-musk-claims-that-x-will-handle-shadowbanning-shortly-download-2023-08-18t175508.106-11zon.jpg 275w, https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/theindiaprint.com-elon-musk-claims-that-x-will-handle-shadowbanning-shortly-download-2023-08-18t175508.106-11zon-150×100.jpg 150w” sizes=”(max-width: 1237px) 100vw, 1237px” title=”Elon Musk claims that X will handle shadowbanning shortly 9″>

Being shadowbanned is being silenced or barred from a social networking site without being informed.

“I apologize for taking so long. The tech tycoon said, “There are so many levels of ‘trust & safety’ software that it often takes us hours to determine who, how, and why an account was suspended or shadowbanned.

He told the users that “a ground up rewrite is underway that dramatically simplifies the X codebase.”
According to a post by Doge Designer, X is developing a feature that will let users check the status of their accounts.

The account stated: “The users will be able to check if they are shadowbanned or not & will also get to know the same.”
“High Priority,” said Musk.

Musk attempted to show that shadowbanning was a widespread practice at the social network after purchasing Twitter (now X) in October of last year by regularly exposing material to the public.

In December of last year, he said that political candidates for office or seeking reelection both domestically and overseas were susceptible to “shadow-banning” by Twitter.

Musk said that planned updates to Twitter’s platform would reveal who had been “shadow-banned,” if they had, and what they might do to reverse that status.

“Twitter is working on a software update that will show your true account status, so you know clearly if you’ve been shadowbanned, the reason why, and how to appeal,” he had tweeted.
