Sunil Gavaskar Criticizes Rohit Sharma for ’20-25 Days to Prepare’ Argument

Rohit Sharma bemoaned the lack of preparation time for a match of this kind following India’s significant loss to Australia in the World Test Championship final. The IPL 2023, which included virtually all of the players from India, finished a week after the WTC final was set to begin.

The optimal period of time, according to Rohit, would have been between 20 and 25 days. Test cricket takes greater discipline. The notion, according to batting icon Sunil Gavaskar, has been refuted since the older players themselves avoid traveling in advance for practice because they are certain that their status in the squad is secure.<img decoding=”async” class=”alignnone wp-image-82149″ src=”https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/www.theindiaprint.com-sunil-gavaskar-criticizes-rohit-sharma-for-20-25-days-to-prepare-argument-untitled-design-1630809796886-1630809813209-11zon-750×422.png” alt=”” width=”1530″ height=”861″ srcset=”https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/www.theindiaprint.com-sunil-gavaskar-criticizes-rohit-sharma-for-20-25-days-to-prepare-argument-untitled-design-1630809796886-1630809813209-11zon-750×422.png 750w, https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/www.theindiaprint.com-sunil-gavaskar-criticizes-rohit-sharma-for-20-25-days-to-prepare-argument-untitled-design-1630809796886-1630809813209-11zon-1024×576.png 1024w, https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/www.theindiaprint.com-sunil-gavaskar-criticizes-rohit-sharma-for-20-25-days-to-prepare-argument-untitled-design-1630809796886-1630809813209-11zon-768×432.png 768w, https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/www.theindiaprint.com-sunil-gavaskar-criticizes-rohit-sharma-for-20-25-days-to-prepare-argument-untitled-design-1630809796886-1630809813209-11zon-1536×864.png 1536w, https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/www.theindiaprint.com-sunil-gavaskar-criticizes-rohit-sharma-for-20-25-days-to-prepare-argument-untitled-design-1630809796886-1630809813209-11zon-390×220.png 390w, https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/www.theindiaprint.com-sunil-gavaskar-criticizes-rohit-sharma-for-20-25-days-to-prepare-argument-untitled-design-1630809796886-1630809813209-11zon-150×84.png 150w, https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/www.theindiaprint.com-sunil-gavaskar-criticizes-rohit-sharma-for-20-25-days-to-prepare-argument-untitled-design-1630809796886-1630809813209-11zon.png 1600w” sizes=”(max-width: 1530px) 100vw, 1530px” />

What kind of planning are we discussing? They have since traveled to the West Indies. The World Test Championship is an illustration that is available to you. Playing any games lately? What exactly is this discussion of 20 to 25 days? Gavakar revealed.

Following a one-month hiatus, the Indian squad is back in action with the West Indies tour, where they now hold a 1-0 series lead thanks to a decisive innings victory in Dominica last week.

“You can go one day before the Test match and still defeat the West Indies squad that they have now. However, this should not take away from the need of being sincere while discussing preparedness. Go 15 days beforehand and play two exhibition games. The starters can take a break, but the backups and periphery players may really challenge some of the struggling starters. He is not given the chance to demonstrate that he is competent, according to Gavaskar.

He also brought up how, despite assertions to the contrary, the Indian squad is among the fittest in the world, with regular player injuries.

The key men are reluctant to go early since they are certain that they will be chosen regardless of what. They will discuss the workload if you arrive early. How can you break down so quickly when you claim to be the world’s fittest squad or more fit than previous generations? When you play a 20-over game, how can you have a workload issue? he questioned.
